Who is Pivallianiq for?

The Pivallianiq program is for all inhabitants of Nunavik.

  • Maintenance Team
To participate, you must be a KMHB tenant with a good payment record. If your payment record is not in good standing, it is possible to work out an arrangement with the KMHB.
  • Nanuk
This component is open to all Nunavik students, but is targeted for elementary school students.
  • My Home, My Village, My Pride
This campaign addresses all Nunavik residents: youth, adults and elders.

To join the Pivallianiq-KMHB Hip-Hop Club, you must be over 12 years old.

How long will the Pivallianiq program run?

The program began in November 2011 and will continue as long as Nunavik’s communities are interested in participating in it and the Société d’habitation du Québec is able to finance it.

How can we join?

If you are interested in participating in any of the Pivallianiq program’s three components, contact the KMHB directly at 819-964-2000 or at pivallianiq@omhkativikmhb.qc.ca

What prizes are participants eligible for?

MAKEOVER TEAM – All certified families that diligently pay their rent throughout the year are automatically eligible for the local and regional draws for big prizes on the annual Pivallianiq-KMHB Housing Day. The regional prizes include complete home furnishings and the services of an interior decorator, a $15 000 value, free groceries for a year and six months’ free rent.

NANUK - At the end of the session, each participating student will receive a PIVALLIANIQ-NANUK certificate with an honourable mention, a reusable water bottle for classroom use and a set of pencils with the Pivallianiq symbol. A few students per class will also be eligible to win a VIP trip to Montreal to see the Canadiens from the Montreal Canadiens Childrens Foundation’s VIP Loge.

How can I get a job with the Pivallianiq program?

We are always looking for dynamic, motivated and devoted agents to support KMHB tenants in their efforts to maintain their homes. A number of positions are available under the Pivallianiq Program. We provide the candidates with training to carry out the position.

Interested candidates for all positions can contact the Kuujjuaq KMHB at 819‑964‑2000 or at pivallianiq@omhkativikmhb.qc.ca.
